About Donovan

  • Donovan’s parents – Ron and Joan Cox – moved their precision machining business to Ward 1’s Speers Road Corridor in 1984

  • Donovan joined the company in 1988 and moved to Ward 1 when he married in 1997

  • Today Donovan lives at the historic Glendella Cottage in Bronte with his wife Jaya and two children Nathan and Samantha

  • Donovan was able to be at home for his kids as he developed and operated his corporate expatriate rental program. Clients have included IKEA, Valley Inco, Pepsi, Sony, Shred-It

  • Donovan and his family lived in Barbados after Donovan’s company sold a 100,000 tonne biodiesel program to Williams Industries in 2007. He worked closely with partners out of Dominica, Brazil and Uruguay.

  • Donovan worked in his family’s aerospace company as quality assurance manager, marketing manager, operations manager and then as president by 1997. The 100 person, state-of-the-art company manufactured development and production aircraft and power generation components. Major Canadian, US and Japanese customers included GE Aircraft Engines, GE Power Generation, Siemens-Westinghouse, Pratt & Whitney, IHI Japan, Rolls Royce, Magellan.

  • Donovan’s formative training included process management and performance measurement with GE Aircraft Engines and IHI Japan

  • Donovan successfully secured private and government finance for many complex industrial production programs

  • Donovan received his Master of Science degree from the University of Guelph and a BA at Laurentian University.
